Featured Replies

Anyone know what fitment they are please?

H7 according to the ones I have just purchased :)

I remember they are the same fitment as the dipped in standard halogen lights.

Also did anyone manage to get their covers on with the ds2 adapter?

Not fitted mine yet, the interest from the GB seemed to die down. I gave them a call on the off chance and luckily they had 1 set left in stock!!

Are you trying to fit the ballasts etc inside the headlight?

Yup! The covers fitted straight back on, my kit came with 2 inch diameter rubber grommets to push into the back of the cover, but a round shape doesn't fit in a square shape easily... I just used the dipped beam bulbs from my standard headlights for my mains :)

I keep meaning to take photos of it all and post on here! When I do i'll link you up :)

I've got HIDs in my standard headlights, well a H7R kit so I will need to pick up a decent set of H7 bulbs for the main beam. Mine have rubber grommets to but I am hoping I can get the ballasts into the back of the headlight.

Thanks mate, just returned a follow, I mostly update my Instagram than on here, much easier and quicker!

I know what you mean.....mine have just arrived and I cannot seem to be able to get the cover over the adapotors without using brute force!

Got mine a couple of months ago but haven't yet got round to fitting them due to breaking a few bones after a cycling incident.

However, did get them out of the boxes last night to have a look and I too found the back plates a mission to clip into place. That was without any bulbs installed.Thought I was going to snap the clips & pegs it required that much force!

Slightly different subject, does anyone on here have any piccys at all of how / where they've positioned their ballasts? Never fitted a HID kit before, so any guidance would be great :)

Cheers

Mine will fit but I'm having to put like nails in at the top to hold the cover in place, not ideal. I might try and file some of the rear of the cover down.

The adjustments on the way my DS2 adpotors for allow me to turn them 90*, can you do that on yours?

Haven't fitted my lights yet, going to get up at 7am and do them in the morning :)

Managed to fit mine yesterday! :)

When it came to the back plate, I simply trimmed the bottom two feet with a Stanley blade to make them a little thinner (when viewed side on), and also trimmed the black plastic holes where the little back plate feet locate into. This brought the bottom part of the back plate slightly further out giving more room for the top clips to locate and clip into place.

Didn't have any problem fitting the bulbs in either. Just make sure the wire from the D2S adapter is pointing down when you come to install the back plate. If it's any help, I was using the D2S kit from hids-direct. Cheap and cheerful and works a treat! (went for 5000k bulbs)

Only downside to the kit is the wire running from bulb to ballast is a little short, so limits you to installing the ballast on the back plate. But that wasn't too much of an issue with the help of zip times and double sided sticky foam ;)

Simply drill a couple of holes in the back plate, thread a big zip tie through and whack the ballast on the back.... voila! (I did also put a bit of epoxy on where the zip tie passed through to ensure it was as water tight as possible)
