I need a bike rack for a vrs mk1 hatch. I would prefer a rear mounted hatch one but the bloody rear wing gets in the way of every one I've tried. I don't want a roof or towbar mounted one if poss. Has anybody found one that will fit.

Is there a reason you don't want to put it in the back? Mud etc? I regularly put an 8 foot tandem (Wheels off though) in the back, a 29er and a large road bike in the back of mine. It's not exactly concourse though.

I've used a basic universal rack on the back of mine the spoiler wasn't a problem, you just have to mount it at a high angle,

I inherited a second hand standard Halfords rack. As Kierravn says, you just have to play with it so that it sits above the wing. That said, I didnt like all that pressure (three bikes) sitting on the rear glass, so I sold it and invested in a set of roof bars and roof mounted racks.....we 'toured' Europe this summer with four bikes on the roof and it was a hell of a sight easier being able to get in to the boot without disentangling pedals, wheels and frames first!

Yeah  think i'll have to go roof mounted didn't want to but the clips for the racks hang on the rear glass as well.
