Best aftermarket parking sensors? Or are OEM cost-effective?

Featured Replies

Slight aside, are the factory fitted ones fitted actually onto the bumper above the swage line in the middle of the bumper, or just below?

ISTR just below the swage. There are indentations/marks in the inside of the bumper showing where they fit. Wiring runs around secured by cable ties and through a grommet.

Shame the webarchive version of fabia-vrs has lost its piccies. Though the text is there.

Oh yeah, Skoda kit seems a 3 sensor jobbie. Most aftermarkets I've seen comprise 4 sensors. Though I dunno if you have to use all of them.

The OE style flush fit Cobra ones are the ones to go for out of all the aftermarket ones as they look so much neater …. or buy a genuine Škoda set from the classifieds on here  :giggle:

if you dont mind spending those extra quids the cobra sensors look more neat!!!

.... By the way how do the cobra sensors attach on the bumperbar??????????

Stick on rear of bumper with high quality adhesive pads and activator glue.

They are then adjustable on a thread to ensure neat flush fit.

That's it; I've seen fitting instructions a a PDF on one of the eBay ads but damned if I can find it.

They poke through from behind (ooh err missus!), not sure if there's a 'finisher' pops in from the front as well.

I'd guess as swmbo's car is black, I could (could being the operative word) get away without painting them?

Anyone any experience of this at all?

I painted mine black but you may get away without.

No finisher required. just drill neat holes and debur well.
