Just dropped into my semi-local Skoda dealer in Epsom, as I had heard nothing re delivery status since ordering a month ago.

Ordered Citigo Elegance on 6 Sept. Delivery was anticipated for mid to end December.

Seems now it could be end Jan early Feb, with the dealer suggesting awaiting new '14 plates on first of March...

Reasons given. Popularity of car type, bottle neck at factory, huge impact of interest free finance deals...

So there goes my long awaited Xmas present. I gather that some Ferrari models have a 10 month gestation, but Sept > Feb is still a bit much for a mass produced car!

For some strange reason the Elegance model has the longest lead times,do not know why though.

I'm assuming it's the time consuming hand polishing of all the extra silver trim

That's what you all get for postponing your purchase until after the '13 plates finished. Superstitious lot!

I ordered my Elegance on 10 July and it was 12 weeks 2 days before it was available for collection... which was Friday last week (4 Oct). So, almost dead on 12 weeks.

 

Unfortunately, all the parts which were exposed to the elements had tiny orange - presumably oxidised iron particles - specks on it, which are only visible when viewed from a short distance (30cm?) and I only noticed the extent of it after I took it home :( Clay bar on order, but from what a colleague has said, it might take many days of hard work to get rid of everything :(
