Went to get in the Fabia today and found that the battery had gone flat and the doors won't open with the remote. Tried usuing the key on the drivers door, but it won't go in all the way. Does anyone know how I can open the bonnet from the outside of the car??

Didn't Lee have to do this recently or something similar? He might be able to offer you advice.

Try a small amount of oil/grease on the key/lock. Otherwise, it's going to be difficult. IMO you'd have to snag the latch mech from underneath having removed the undertray. Not sure how feasible that is though.

All sorted!! After hours trying to get the bonnet open from underneath, and through the grille, I manage to get the lock unstuck after hours of fiddling with the lock!

My cable had snapped but I was able to get into the car and use mole grips on the remaining cable. From what I've read elsewhere though it's a ball-ache to get it open from outside the car.

Ahh my bad!

A lesson for us all then to keep the drivers door lock greased just in case!
