What colour wheels?

Featured Replies

Now that I need to get some new winter alloys for my new VRs, I'm struggling to decide on a colour for them! I know some will say they're only winters & are more likely to get scuffed etc, but I'd still like the car to look good!! I'm getting Race Blue with the black pack & have been looking at black, anthracite & grey. These are some of what I've been looking at.

Any opinions would be gratefully received to help me in my decision making!!

Cheers

No to the first ones, look too like wheels you get on a mini.

Wolfrace are nice but virtually the same as the mk2 vrs wheels - there are some on eBay from a dealer just now.

BBS ones though..... Tempted myself!

Aye the last ones bbs, kinda insignia vxr look to them but in a good way, think they will look big on the car compared to the others too, which is important. other look like they may be a bit ordinary.

So BBS and in candy red = yum

Thanks for the input so far, just trying to decide whether to go for 17's or 18's. It'd be nice if things were simpler sometimes!

Depends on budget for the tyres as well as wheels. Also if you're fussed about the look of slightly smaller wheels I guess.

get some steelies on :giggle:

Winter rims should be simple and easy to keep clean, rather than cool and dirty.. As for me the norwegian winter roads are killers of rims due to excessive use of salt on the roads...

Size is no issue, that is usually a budget thing.. I run stock 18" staggered 225 front and 245 rear, Nokkian Hakkapeliitta R, a nice tire that works nicely on ice and snow, my current car is a 3 series E91.

As I have a Octavia in order i will get that a sett of ContiVikingContact 5.

BBS is always the correct way to go... ;)

Funnily enough I liked them too although a few too many spokes for a winter wheels. Plus, having seen them in the flesh hue finish is very matt so I'm not sure how easy it would be to clean.

How about some Golus alloys and get them painted gloss black?

Seen these, wasn't sure if they'd be ideal for winter with the polished parts to them though. Other than that, I like them!

Could be a problem yes!

Are your uk roads salted during winter?

They are, usually after the snow has fallen or ice has formed though!! :giggle:
