PD160 Intake Insurance

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just called direct line my insurance and told them I wanted to fit a 160 intake. Explained it was a manufacture part and it would not increase performance. They guy when of came back and said an engineer had declined my request and I wasn

to be honest mate it dosent look that much different to the standerd one. you would only notice the difference if you knew what you where lookin for.

nope but then I have a fairly open minded insurer, I guess it helps when one of the guys has a tuned Golf TDi which came in handy as the guy know what I was talking about

I'm with Zurich & they were fine.

I can do exhaust, strut, PD160 intake, FMIC.

Basically all the junk that doesnt increase the engine output (significantly). They won't accept a remap however

No increases from My Good Egg insurers  and my strut brace was considered a safety feature

as it look thwe same don't worry, also Direct line and their other companies don't cater for under 25 and modded anyway.

I know a friend who's dad's brother in law's daughters boyfriend has a Fabia vRS with this on and he didnt tell his insurance.

He said, and I quote

'They look exactly the same and I doubt they would ever know'

;)

Hmm - not a great plan for a car that's known to be modified regularly ;)

Tesco (who are underwritten by the same company) do as I insured my Gp17 modded Scooby with them when I was 23 ;) If they say no, they say no ... you can either fit it and hope you don't have an accident and they don't spot it and invalidate your insurance, ring them up again and hopefully speak to another person, or just find another insurer come renewal time :D
