Delayed Orders

Featured Replies

There seem to be problems with the availability of several options at present.

For someone who does not need to buy a new Octavia immediately, would it make sense to wait a year or more for these problems to be resolved, and in the hope that more options (or that more combinations of options) may become available?

Or is there a risk that Skoda may withdraw some options, so that buyers who delay their orders may end up having less choice, not more?

What is Skoda's history of this with previous models?

You might also get no VAT if you wait.

No VAT?  I have the same dilemma, although not sure I'd want to wait too long...

There are unlikely to be VAT-Free Octavia offers whilst delivery lists are 3-4months long. The 0% APR offer appears more than sufficient to shift Octy's in numbers Skoda cannot supply, so I do not envisage better offers popping up any time soon. In the past VAT-Free has tended to exclude new/popular models and concentrate on ones which are harder to shift. The last offer included the Fabia, Roomster and Superb (Petrol only) models.

How long is the current 0% offer?  (I.e.: Over 3 years, or 5 years like Vauxhall?).  Is there a minimum deposit?

I tried getting this from the website but struggled somewhat....

I believe you can choose your payment period.  The most popular options seem to be 36 or 42 months and according to the T&Cs on the website you don't have to put anything down as deposit.

Longest terms are 36 & 42 months, and according to T&C's deposits can be between 0% & 30%. I recently ordered a VRS Petrol with a few minor options for 42x ~£300pm with a £2K deposit. GFV is just over £9K.

I have a VRS diesel hatch on order with extras came to just over £25 K, PCP over 42 months, 12,000 MPA, only a £400 deposit then £360 per month. Seems reasonable to me.

On your paperwork Orville does it say GFV anywhere? Mine doesn't.. just my baloon payment of around £10,500. I asked the dealer about this and he said the GFV and final payment are usually around in-line with each other.

I thought the 0% apr deal was only over 2 years? We're getting £9.4k p-ex, £4k deposit and £400/mth over 24 mths for £25k car. Sounded ok at the time

My PCP on 0% is over 42 months.

The final payment is the GFV.
