Radio removal keys needed?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm picking up my monte TSI next week and I've already got the DRL's and Nightbreakers planned.

I'm also considering removing the standard audio and fitting a Pioneer double DIN unit (perhaps AVH-X5500BT). There's no audio installers here in Shetland but a mate has offered to do it (he's got a modified car and is a techy so he should be OK for the install).

He's asked if I would need radio keys to remove the old stereo. From what I can see, its just remove plastic trim and then 4 normal torx screws. Is this correct?  If I need radio keys I'll pick them up next week at the dealer when I collect the car.

I'm also thinking this kit should have all the bits I need for the job (dont need steering column control harness):    http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/con-ctksk01-ctksk01-skoda-fabia-2007-radio-installation-kit.html

Sound about right for a non maxidot car?

Many thanks,

Stuart

Flick out the outer trim and 4 Torx screws and out it comes..

What Phil said. It's that easy.  Also I dont think you need that extra 'bit of kit'. As it's more/less the same as standard, providing your new one is also Double Din.
