6 Month delay for Front Assist on Elegance!

Featured Replies

So I ordered an Elegance Estate (2.0TDi) on 24/08 due for delivery mid-November. I was therefore surprised with only 5 weeks to go to be told by my dealer today that because I don't have a build week yet I either have to accept my car without Front Assist (and receive it on time) or wait until May!

They were totally unwilling to offer me a discount or another option in exchange. It's the kind of crappy customer service that makes me consider whether to just cancel altogether

I would suggest you have a look around see what's readily available to you from other VAG dealers/marques and then you may well be able to say well actually I can get better here so I'm cancelling.

There is already a thread on this.

The delay is 7 weeks not months ;)

Wonder if my elegance built last week has front assist

Not what my dealer said today. Though maybe he's blagging because he wants the sale (and therefore his commission) to be completed sooner

Yeah, but dealers are known to be wrong you know.  :giggle:

Well I rang Skoda customer services yesterday. Ordered car on 19/August build date given as week 2 because i ordered front assist. My salesman had already told me week 2 but reckoned week 44.

I wait with baited (bated?) breath.

If they give you a date a long way off and it arrives a lot lot sooner you'll be a happy camper.

Which is what they're doing ;)

Mine was ordered on 5th september (through lease company as its a compay car) and was informed by them at the end of september that it would be due for delivery around 3rd Feb. Not sure if thats delivery to them, or to me.

Unless things have gotten worse in the last 2 weeks, i'd have thought yours should be a little before mine (working off order dates). But I guess, in the end, who knows?

I'm sure spec'ing no front assist would affect resale values, or at least, desirability over the models with it. But hey, January 2013 only feels like a few weeks ago, so i'm sure February, or even May will be here before you know it

There's a big difference between under-selling and over-delivering with build times and just plain putting people off

Spoke to them today and now he's saying end of January. Much more acceptable

What is Front Assist?  Is it the same as Lane Assist?  It isn't something I particularly want, but Lane Assist is standard on the vRS I've got on order.
