peddle vibration at high speeds

Featured Replies

My other half got a 53 reg yaris 2 week ago, driving around town its fine but at motorway speeds when you touch the brake the peddle vibrates and also the steering wheel. Took it back to evens halShaw and there adamant there is nothing wrong! But there is, it obviously if they would only take it down the motorway which they don't seem to want to do. Taking it for a second opinion today. It only happens at fast speeds though, which makes me think bushes over warped discs. Any ideas?

I think the second opinion is a great idea,

and get it from a Qualified Motor Mechanic that can inspect the vehicle closely and possibly do a road test.

Some Technicians, even Toyota Technicians often appear to be vehicle problem deniers,

even when New Toyota have recognised by Toyota Problems & re-calls are in place,

you give them a vehicle to road test and they lose all their senses of Hearing, Feeling.

Your not wrong there, it was like talking to a child, I kept saying just take it down the motorway and you will see, they just looked at me blank. They give it a 12 month mot so if it turns out to be an mot failure ill be asking why they have given a ticket on a car that is not road worthy. That should worry them a little

They,  never did that.

A Qualified MOT inspector carried out a MOT Examination & checked, steering, braking, and other components for visible faults and

also play in said parts.

& did a Brake Efficiency test & passed the car.

If you independent finds the Tester missed something relevant to the test, then tell us all when you know what.

You can report to VOSA,

But as is always said, 'The test is the car presented on the day'.

A vehicle can hit a pothole or a speed bump as soon as it leaves the Test Station.

Only the most obvious of long term problems cause trouble to a Tester, passing vehicles wrongly.

You may have surface Corrosion on Discs or a Wheel a bit off balance or something that causes the problem you are aware of,

but is not a MOT failure.

?

Can you not inspect and service brakes on a car?

I see your post on Modifying and tuning a Skoda, re BHP/Torque,

i hope the first thing you consider is always Brakes, stopping and Handling and general maintenance before thinking, 'whats fastest'.

Took it to another garage, he only took the car down the street and said it needed new discs. Took it back to evens halShaw and they weren't happy but said they would do it. Now why couldn't there fitter have not done the same?
