Hi Guys,

The above warning light has just popped up, I have checked brake

lights & switch but light still on.

The car is due a service in around 250 miles,could this have anything

to do with it?

Is there any kind folk in or around Gateshead with diagnostic reader

who could help me check it out?

What's it look like? I've not seen a exhaust light before I don't think.

Its the control system for exhaust symbol (yellow)

I had that warning light illuminate when the problem was actually with an air intake sensor, although that was on an Octavia vRS CR.

car is only doing city centre driving at the moment.

Maybe getting clogged up?

A scan may be my best bet.

A guy at work has an obd2,where does it plug into?

Your Fabia only has a cat (no DPF) which more than likely isnt blocked, I've certainly not heard of one blocking in the 5 years I've been on here. In fact, thinking about it there are no sensors on the exhaust form what I remember so I suspect it's not a exhaust light. Not the EML light is it? Looks like a little engine? The OBD port is under the little flap.can holder to the right of the steering column under the dash. Pull it open then pull it again and it'll hang down.

If it's a 'BLT' engine, check the hose that goes to the reservoir at the front of the engine.  Its black and about the size of a tennis ball.  If the connector is broken, did it by itself on my car, then the enginge light will come on.  The reservoir or as Skoda call it a damper. is inexpensive and is an easy diy replacement.

 

If this is not the problem them have the codes read on the ECU.

What age and engine is your vehicle? I have the 1.4 16V (100BHP) and have had the exhaust light on on a number of occasions.

According to his profile its a SE, so a 2007 1.9 TDi

Thanks for replies.

According to owners manual it is an exhaust system warning light.

I thought it was an engine management light.

I will check the hose to the reservoir tomorrow.

2007 vrs.

No power loss or anything else,though service message is coming up (300 miles)due its 60,00 service.

Car has been serviced today.

Code read,showing as electrical fault on no 1 glowplug.

 

Quick update.

Oil & Inspection warnings cleared,warning light still on dash.

Left car for about 3 hours,started car,light now off.

Not sure if there is a connection with warning messages but

happy at the moment.
