Can the boot light timeout be changed?

Featured Replies

My user manual states that the boot lights remain on for 30 minutes while the boot is open at which point they are automatically turned off.

As I do a lot of short journeys and wish to have the boot open (generally during daylight) for many hours I'd like to shorten the timeout from 30 minutes.

Can this be done? Anyone got VCDS and can check? Or had it changed at a dealers?

thanks

For clarification... I have recently changed my Octavia for a Yeti (have updated my Profile but only after I posted my question and saw the out dated car details)

I don't think the time can be altered but the bulb is only 1x 5 watt so only very small current drain.

You could swap the OE light for the LED one from Superskoda. Virtually nil current draw and much brighter whiter light.

Agreed, swop it for an LED.

Try asking in the vcds forum?

I can't recall seeing any related coding option in vcds.
