1st service costs?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I booked swmbo's Citigo in a couple of weeks ago for its first service (basic oil/filter and check levels/tyre pressures).

At the time of booking at Skoda, was told fixed price £129 thought, hey ho keeps the service book looking nice etc.

Had the service done today as arranged, they did all the above and vacuum/washed it, for £78!

Well impressed and it clearly stated all that was done.

At that price I doubt an independent would have been any cheaper. Not sure on next years costs though.

Thanks for that info, which I shall keep in my memory-banks til needed. Because I didn't get the free servicing offer (cash sale, whopping discount)...I idly enquired about the first service cost and was a bit shocked by the reply....can't remember exactly... but WELL over £200...for an oil and filter change!

So was I ripped off, paid £99. And yes basically an oil change, oh and they did wash it and told me they had flushed out the windscreen reservoir tank, whoopie doo!

just paid £108 for the first service . thought this was a good deal till i saw this thread haha. still - happy enough with my  price as all things motoring tend to be more expensive here in northern ireland!

Isn't Platinum 5W40 the wrong oil for these cars?

If it's vw 502 00 and service interval is fixed, then it's fine.

Meets VW 502.00 and fixed service interval.

I've been topping mine up with Castrol Edge 5w30 as I thought that was the correct oil for them. So when mine gets it's first service in a couple of weeks, if they use 5w40 I will have to buy different oil for topping it up?

Do you really need to add oil? I went first 15000km without adding any oil.

Only topped mine up once in 11k miles and that was a very small amount. Since it's last service 4k miles and 11 months ago it's not needed any top up.

No top up yet after 14K miles :)
