.......and so the troubles begin.......

This confuses me, how is this possible - are you getting in the passenger side and climbing across?  If so I can help, if you check the owner's manual under 'doors', you will see that the car is fitted with them both sides for your convenience!    :giggle:

The sun glasses holder is in the centre of the roof by the interior lights.  I have also hit me head on it on a couple of occasions.  Perhaps you thought it was above the driver's door as in some other cars?

I read it like that too, but I think its £500 for 2x tyres and tax!

indeed £330ish for tyres (though sure I can beat that) and £170 for tax. Ideally would have liked to get 4 wheel alignment done but Skoda want £150 for that....dont want to leave it to an independent I dont know being so new still; dont think its bad enough to warrant having it done at the moment anyway and cant justify the expense given it drives well and the tyres arent wearing strangely. Car also due its 1st service but fortunately that's covered under the finance!

Im sure you knew about the fact you would need to tax the car and put tyres on it...

That may be but for a pair of Conti SC2's to wear out in 9k miles (and its not like i flog the thing day in day out) is a poor show and whilst anticipated not expected (or particularly agreeable) at that mileage.

Ive been running Skodas recommended pressures (2.1 bar front, 2.2 rear) and am convinced the front pressures are too low and have probably caused the wear; run 2.2 bar all round now and seems better.

Was just going to say as well its not often that you get a 10 month old car with little or nothing wrong with it that just due to regular wear and tear could do with nearly a grand spending on it all at once; not in my experience anyway. Complete bad luck!

Think you missed the sarcasm. He obviously knows it's in the centre, he's saying that because it's in the centre, he can't understand how with it being situated there how you manage to crack your head on it without getting in the passenger side of the car and straddling the centre console to get to the driver's seat, as it's normal for people to sit in the seat first and then tuck their head in last, thus being miles away from that area of the car.
