Service plans/Which service is next

Featured Replies

Since purchasing a new to me 09 vRS petrol, I've just had an email back from the local two Skodas regarding serving plans I made an enquiry about.

The cars on 34k and last had a service in March with 5.5k miles passed since.

On hearing back from both the dealers they've both agreed it's

50k/60 months

60k/72 months

70k/84 months

that will be included in the plan. I'm a little lost as a variable service was done on the car, which confuses what's been done.

Since the cars history is fixed/variable/fixed (6.6k/21k/28k in mileage, 11.6.10 / 19.3.12 / 15.3.13 in date) with the 2012 one having additional work 30km tick and the 2013 having the  brake fluid change tick.

Would I be right in thinking the next one should be a major service since it's min/maj/min history from what I can gather?

First dealer quoted £705 and the second £525, although the first comes with 1 free MOT, 10% off work and free puncture repair.

Seems to me the £525 would be worth it if it's two majors and a minor, where as all of them are pretty pointless if two minor and a major, the £705 being pretty much pointless even if it included a free Ferrari hire car. But is there anything that need's "catch" up due to the variable service in the middle?

Having had a quick look at the MFD it's stating 10900 miles or 14 months, can I safely assume it's just the dealers who haven't changed back to fixed?

Hi guys,

Anyone have a clue on this, as it needs to be booked in for a couple weeks time, as I'm only a few hundred away from a service.

unless you have some sort of warranty or wish to keep the book up to date ----if it was mine I would MOT when needed see what's wanted if any then have an oil and ALL filters change then go to 12 month seviceing from there on  £700+ is takin the -------
