I recently bought an arm rest from a Leon

Apart from paying thru the nose for an arm rest with a stripped thread

I've found that the surround for the bottom is too long

Is this normal or am I being a pillock?

no the arm rest (the core part) is the same, but the surrounds are different, you need an octavia plastic surround (the 2 side bits) from what i remember.
