No sound from Bolero

Featured Replies

I have replaced my Stream for a Bolero (Blaupunkt version) in my 06 Octavia vrs.  The unit switches on and I can navigate menus, cd's appear to be playing etc but there is no sound.

A replacement Canbus has been fitted (pre-coded) to avoid the battery drain issue but I am at a loss as to how to progress this lack of sound.  Has anyone else had a similar issue?

I am wondering if there is a wiring compatibility issue between the old Stream and new Bolero or if this needs some coding (unfortunately outside of my expertise).

Any assistance would be appreciated!

In theory it should be 'plug'n'play' from Stream to Bolero - no coding needed.

Do you know for a fact that the Bolero worked correctly before you bought / fitted it?

Could the Bolero be set to drive a power amp?

The seller I purchased the Bolero from assures that it was working before being fitted, I tend to concur as it powers up ok and I can cycle through all the menus etc - all seems to function ok except the crucial sound!  This leads me to think it could be a wiring incompatibility/coding issue.

Could the Bolero be set to drive a power amp?

Possibly?  I don't know the specification of the car this was originally fitted in,  How would you go about changing the coding?  The setup menu accessible from the stereo is pretty basic, restoring the 'factory setting' appears to have little effect.

You'd need to find someone with VCDS to have a look, it's not an "internal menu" function.
