I've been trying to get some news on a build date for my vRS estate since ordering and paying deposit on 20th September. At that time, I was told an expected date to collect the car would be mid December. After many emails and phone calls to try and get some information, I have just had an email from the dealer to say;

 

VRS delivery has changed to 6 months, your order is on the system...but as yet I haven't had a confirmed build week from the factory, so i can only estimate 6 months time (your order has been in before the announcement)...

 

To say that's disapointing is an understatement!!!

 

What do you all think to some compensation?

Did you order any of the delaying options? ACC or a pano sunroof?

No, i've ordered sunset glass, sat nav and variable boot floor.

Odd then. I know some people have mentioned dealers only having certain allocations so I wonder if it's anything to do with that?

I'd cancel just based on the font that used to email you. Ordered from Shakespeare Skoda?

Ordered through Heritage Group in the South West (Yeovil).

I ordered my hatch on the 14th September with an original delivery due end of Jan.  When I spoke to the dealer the other day he sent me a screen shot of the order screen which had a 'original' build week of week 8 2014.  in effect the dealer was a little disingenuous with the initial delivery date.  It was never going to be January and more likely to be Feb / Mar.

We're in the same boat - we had a stock car with a provisional build week 45 changed to our spec (nothing troublesome, Columbus, Sunset Glass, Cruise etc.) and it's now slipped to week 10! Not happy, we're probably going to cancel and buy a stock car with slightly different options to we'd ideally choose. Frustrating, it's hard to vote with your feet as there's little else out there to match the car! :(

I spoke to my dealer yesterday (vRS Estate TDI DSG ordered 28 Sept - no problem options) and I was told there is no reason not to expect delivery within the 12 weeks quoted although there is no provisional dates yet.  I'm not believing him!!

That is hard to believe since my local dealer informed me this Tuesday that vRS model is having the longest delays of all the Skoda models.

Spoke to my dealer today to find out any info on my vrs, but he said the system was all over the place at the moment and he would wait for it to settle down before he confirmed anything for me. Its not sounding too hopeful folks! I had build week 2 last week.

There definitely seems to be something going on here.

Was just speaking to a dealer just there who told me when I enquired about a new VRS, 'hope its not an estate your after as big delays have just been announced'.

Just been to dealers after reading this post,iv ordered a vrs estate 3weeks ago,so went to check delivery time for mine in light of this,and was told that mine has a confirmed build week of week 51,so should get it end of jan

You need to demonstrate financial loss to claim compensation.

I orderd a month ago today and I was told build week 15 but that has now been removed and now waiting for another build week!

Don't believe the 6 month delay.

Some that were advised of delays of months have reported that their car is built or being built

When I ordered my hatch back in august I was told it wouldn't be built until December at the earliest. It was built this week and on Wednesday it arrived at port of exit.

Now the dealer told me that it was earmarked for shipping on 25/10/13 but he said that's usually wrong and to expect it inside 2 weeks

Placed my order today and I'm looking at 5 months of waiting. Dealer told me however that all of the vRS models are delayed even more - all orders placed this month (October 2013) are coming in May 2014. That's 7 months  :S
