Central locking connections for aftermarket alarm..

Featured Replies

My apologies if this is already on a thread..... if it is and someone could point me in the right direction, id be most grateful :hi: I have posted in the ICE section but no replies as yet..

I have recently bought a 2002 vrs and am looking to put an after market alarm system on.

Does anyone have the wiring diagrams / locations for the central locking on the car please. Ive gound some of my old bits for a 99MY but the colours are all different. Also, whether or not it is positive or negative pulsed? I would ideally like to do total closure off the alarm (why that wasn't standard :0(   ) Ive had a prod around a bit today but didn't want to damage anything.....

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Can't help you with the wiring I'm afraid but you might not know that your Octavia probably already has total closure, albeit not remotely (it's called Comfort Control or something).  It's operated by turning the key in the lock and holding it there until the windows and sunroof close (the windows close first, then the sunroof), it can also open all the windows when unlocking if you hold the key there.  Why they didn't add this to the remote control is anyone's guess, although to be fair, when it was introduced in the late 1990s not many cars had remote locking.  As the facility is already there on the car, you may be able to simply tap into the appropriate wires when fitting the alarm to add total closure to the remote locking of the alarm.  How you'd do it, and what wires you'd need to tap into, I wouldn't have a clue I'm afraid!

The Octavia had an invisible facelift around 2000 time so the wiring probably changed around then.

Good luck with it!

I did mine about 10 years ago and I did my cdl connections inside the drivers door in the big multiplug at the window regulator and there negative pulse and extending pulse on lock will roll up the windows, will probably be the same colours as golf/bora as they have to be connected in the same location and wire colours are probably the same which are thin yellow/blue for lock and thin dark green/red for unlock but check before connecting up as I can't be held responsible if you mess it up.
