Any ideas SDI 1.9 asy blowing fuse 24

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have the following fault with my 1.9 sdi blowing fuse 24...

It started about a week ago as i was driving the car became sluggish almost a limp mode type of driving style, checked fault codes and found

17660 Start of Injection Solenoid Circ Open/Short to Ground

17849   EGR Valve Circ Open/Short to Ground

So i buzzed out all the fuses and found fuse 24 blown, if i am right, this is associated to Exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18-.

Replaced fused 24 and car ran sweet as nut for about a week, but today the fault is back blowing fuses straight away,

Have check the resistance across the terminals of N18 and found to be around 17 ohms when warm, service manual reckons anywhere between 14-20 ohms cold n hot respectively.

Wire from pin 1 of plug from N18 buzzes out good to one side of fuse 24 and around 1400 ohms when buzzed to earth.

Any other ideas would be most appreciated chaps, mental block setting in with a vengeance at moment. :wonder:

This is probably too late for you but had the same problem & the intake manifold flap had blown its circuit board.

I unplugged the intake manifold flap & replaced the fuse & it is running normally again.

A new intake manifold flap can cost about £350 so I will probably put a second hand one in
