97 Felicia Coolant pump

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Having had the truck (97, 1.3mpi) dump the coolant on the drive the culprit seems to be the pump. Long story but the one ordered turned out to be the wrong one but having been away, its past the exchange time so need to buy the correct one now. The reason I went with the supplier I chose was because they listed the replacement gaskets with the pump, so if anyone knows of a supplier that does please let me know.

Thanks Ben

For anyone else who needs it, the Firstline pump from parts-direct-uk-ltd on ebay is supplied with one.

Despite the help of the threads on here, I have run into problems with this, I was following this http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/205575-water-pump-leak/?hl=%2Bcoolant+%2Bpump#entry2434233 and got to step 10/11. Currently the engine is supported with the jack/block of wood but has slipped back so its now sat in the mount by the gear linkages but touch the rear of the mount, The engine isn't free to move currently and raising the jack just lifts the car off the axle stands.

My current thinking is that I should hire an engine hoist and having separated the gear linkages it should be much easier to pull the engine forward and up to allow the pump to be slid off.

Any help or suggestions welcome.

A second jack and block under the sump has pulled the engine up and forward so the pump could be removed, shame its now tipping down.

the one ordered turned out to be the wrong one

I'm struggling to find the right one, every single one for sale seems to have a pipe running down but the one on the car does not have it, any suggestions ?
