Considering an Octavia but..

Featured Replies

What's the very nice colour/spec of the car in the picture in the link below, it looks lowered, is it a vRS?

BTW, hi everyone!

I've been looking around for a car to replace my knackered old Passat for a couple of months now but have bounced around most manufacturers.

It can't be rear wheel drive as I need to commute to work all year round so that's BMW/Mercedes and Jaguar out.

I visited Audi last week to try an A5 sportback and very nice it was but I can't help thinking the car just isn't worth

the £35k price tag.

Anyway so after reading/watching umpteen reviews on Youtube I've found myself looking at an Octavia and it comes out extremely well

and the current 0% finance on PCP deals makes it even better against Audi at 6%.

I'm off to a local dealer tomorrow to have a look and a play, just wonder if I'm going to be tempted by a vRS!

I've just seen that Meteor grey is available in the vRS configurator, any idea if that's the colour of the car in the picture?

Cheers

the car in the link is not a vrs, therefore its not meteor grey, i changed mine from white to meteor, there is a post on here with pics

I think the one in the photo is steel grey. It's not a VRS, has the Golus alloys and is lowered just for the purpose of the photoshoot!

Btw, don't dismiss BMW as rear wheel drive only as a few of the 'everyday' models can now be specced with x drive awd :)

That car is a photoshopped version of standard Octavia Hatch in 'Brilliant Silver Metallic' with 18-inch Golus wheels. You won't get stock Octavia lowered as much as seen on photo even with vRS model.

Edit: Missed Yeti_Man's response. sorry for repeating. Could be also steel grey ofc

Expensive and hard riding run flats on a BMW I believe (or it used to be) and you still need winter tyres and those would transform the handling of even a rwd BM in the winter.

However I'd still prefer an Octy, although I'm going with a TDI 150 Combi 4x4 and when required winter tyres :giggle:
