4motion alloys on vrs?

Featured Replies

Hi I'm going to buy mk4 Golf 4motion 5spoke alloys for £100, px'ing with my 16" spiders. Does anyone have photoshop so I get an idea what it'd look like? Thanks all :-)

Sorry for the rubbish quality. Do you mean these? They're supposed to be diamond cut, but these have been refurbed anthracite.

Yup, those !! Santa Monica's! Cheers! Love the look! Is yours lowered?

Think so... I bought it like it is. Looks good with those, I'm on Spiders most of the time. These are my track wheels.

I wondered what they would look like on a VRS,

Have to say i quiet like them especially that colour

They look good, I always thought that anthracite would suit the silver vRS well.

It does. Dark wheels look good on a light colour car. I'll keep an eye out for yours, whereabouts in Leeds are you?

I'm normally over East Leeds way (Richmond Hill area) for my sins.  Mine's got the Briskoda url on the front bumper, side windows, rear hatch and the B logo on the windscreen above the tax disc, however I've never been spotted yet!

^^^^Perhaps a full body wrap next then lol

I am starting to think that it's sticker overkill on my car!

I have a round sticker just below the windscreen strip, top right, the URL above the headlight as per my avatar and a long one just under the high level brake light.

I have been spotted twice, once in Bradford and once in Newcastle (pre stickers) but not in Leeds.

I'm in North Leeds, Headingley, Meanwood kind of area. I'll keep an eye out for a silver mk1 whenever I head towards east Leeds.

I also think we have essentially the same car. Mine is also 2004, parking sensors and sunroof. But mine has a squeaky aux belt.

Unusual to find two the same with factory sunroof and parking sensors.  I've also had cruise control fitted to mine (costs around £180 fitted with VAG parts) and I have rear brakes that moo like a herd of cows.

I do, however, have that rarest of Octavia features - a working rear wash wipe!  Mind you, that's only because I've had a new wiper motor and the waterlogged wiring replaced...

Alas, my rear washer does not work.

But I can't find where it's blocked or leaking. Certainly it's not leaking into the boot.

Cruise is on the list, will make motorway journeys so much easier.

The rear wash wipe on these is a nightmare, there's a pipe in about four separate sections that come apart when the water freezes, normally underneath the CD changer.  Mine had a pool of water there that you could only see when the trim panels were removed.  This meant that the wiring was rotten, meaning that the rear boot light didn't work.  I had the guys at Sultas in Leeds (they know these cars inside out) sort the wiring out and fit a new wiper motor as well.  The water to the rear washer comes through the middle of the wiper motor meaning that over time it rusts the metal and blows the motor.  Genius design...  Wiper motor cost about £70 brand new from a Skoda dealer on eBay.

The cruise control was about £80 for the complete kit on eBay from a VW dealer, includes the stalk, an instruction book the size of War and Peace and about four sections of wiring loom.  There are also the instructions for the settings you need to make on VAG com.  I got mine fitted for me as I didn't fancy taking the airbag off.  Amusingly, the cruise control on the Octavia doesn't have any lights on the dash to tell you that it's switched on or active!
