service indicator

Featured Replies

My car has just clocked 10k but there is no service indicator or flashing insp on the dash is that unusual?

You can have mine? Mine's just popped up on the Fabia :(

Ive just booked my monte in for servicing as its finally popped up, depends whether its set on fixed or variable too as to when it will show

The Citigo is on fixed servicing ie,10000 miles or 12 months?.

It shows when you turn the key, it doesn't stay on as a reminder. Mine started showing as said on 12 months, I've done 7k miles.

My wife's came up at 3826miles, they are set or at least my wife's is @ time/distance as the service tech has put that on the service report.

At 10k miles or 12 months, it should give a little bing when you start it or put the ignition on fully and "Insp" should pop up in the display for a short while too.

Not sure why yours isn't.

Ours didn't for some reason.  Just had its 1st service today (with 1400 miles on the clock) though - a couple of weeks early.

Pay £20 car tax (ASG, not Greentech) online, book for service.  Easy!

It's the same as my Octy was. A bong on key turn then insp light and how many miles left until if any.

Crikey...

Thats low miles in a year!

Do you just drive it out the garage to wash it or what!?!

I've only had mine 5 weeks and put 1700 miles on it :(

You do drive it more when you first get it though

1200 in 3 months myself

Blimey we must be high mileage users at 3,300 after 6 months. Better park it up for the winter in case we wear it out?

Probably a good idea

Just make sure you park it with the wheels straight :D

If I turn it upside down that will save the tyres and clean the underside?

OK a visit to the Mii forum me think?

1400 miles in a year? I'd sell it and buy a £250 banger with a years test every year rather than buy a 10k car and not use it.

Swmbo's car was purchased second hand with 440 miles on the clock.

It was first registered Sep 2012 and we bought in early March 2013! That was ultra low mileage.

I put the other 3k miles plus in a few months :) now she has it back it will be around 100/150 miles a month.

Just think of the resale value of a 10 year old car and 14k on the clock. Must be at least £10 above the high mileage Citigo's

Yes, seeing as though your their new moderator ;)

Sounds like your car wasn't set to fixed at pdi.

Best get it booked in ASAP as the free servicing is only for fixed intervals.

Wifey needed a reliable car with me working away a lot - we've done the bangernomics for about 10 years previous but without me to around to keep it going, it was the sensible solution ironically.  She also needs it to transport her 83 year old mum around as she hates taxi drivers (they scare her) and won't get on a bus.  Might only be to the doctors and the shops, but still works out cheaper than taxis everywhere.

It's also her birthday present for 3 years ;)

Fair do's fella

Thats gonna be one low mileage motor when you sell/swap it :)

My Smart has done an even lower mileage per year.It is just 4 years old and has done 4800 miles. When i was working i did anything from 20K-30K a year, but now i am retired i mostly use the car to do the weekly shop and the odd trip to Blackpool.

I have a bus pass and the senior rail card,so i use the bus a lot for free. I get the train to London for only £21 return if i book well in advance and it only takes 2 hours. Even if my Smart diesel does 80 MPG it cant compete with the train on price or speed.

Most would say i do not need a car,but i have always had one,and do enjoy driving it when i do.I only need to visit the filling station every 2 months, and it will be worth loads more when i sell it to a dealer. At least £1-00 more.Of course the dealer will say mileage makes no difference, but as soon as he has got the car,he will price it at £2000 more than any other with a normal mileage.Thats if i was crazy enough to sell to him.

We were able to go for the lowest mileage PCP option to keep the payments down - and should have some extra equity in it when the 42 months is up as well.  At least that's the plan!
