Idea for a CAI, but is it daft?

Featured Replies

Considering putting a CAI on my Vrs, but living in cumbria we get a fair few flooded roads so puts me off a bit....BUT I had an idea of going for an open cone with a heat shield, still not great for heat soak and cold air feed though. So what about putting an air intake vent on the bonnet where the filter would sit? Anyone seen this done or know why it wouldn't be a good idea?

I often wonder if i retro t4 style pressed vent in the wing or such could be cool

And good for intake ( if u dont mind bodywork )

Yeah, nothing too chavvy, but purposeful. Think a single off centre vent looks good, especially when it does something. Don't know about a molded in one, but a good quality plastic one to filler into a hole may be ok to do with my limited skills!

Put a snorkel on  :giggle:

Do a search for Naca duct

Read about the Naca ducts in Evo last month, can't imagine why it shouldn't work, especially with some mesh to stop big stuff getting in there. I'll keep on thinking on this one. Maybe I just make sure big puddles are avoided and go the easy route with a CAI

Thats the guys :)

This place can vent anything wings, bonnets etc
