225 fuel pump

Featured Replies

Has any body fitted a walbro 225 fuel pump suppose to direct replacement of old pump but it's way slimmer than the original ?????

Theres a sleeve you can get IIRC, maybe ask Rob or Bowders, I think they have both run these pumps at some point

Correct my friend....it is a 4bar pump to match the 4bar FPR LCR/S3 and TT's run

the VRS is a 3bar pump and FPR

Glad to here its sorted  :whew:

Some stage 2 mappers use the 4 bar FPR like REVO , others don't.

Don't need to change injectors for stage 2 mapping buddy.

You only need that when you go bigger turbo or to really try to squeeze custom mapping out to it's limit

4bar FPR on a stock AUQ fuel pump is like beating a dead horse. IMHO totally pointless.

Not all "stage 2" have exactly the same hardware, so some vrs don`t have a problem with fueling some like my and cossie had.

My stock injectors couldn`t supply enough fuel so I have them replaced with BAM ones. Above 5000rpm lambda was around 0.88-0.90 which obviously is too high, IDC was stuck at 21ms. Now it`s around 18-19ms.

Boost comes nicely to 1.5bar and falls to 0.9-1.0bar@6500rpm.

I have just fitted a walbro 225 pump that's why I was asking

is the walbro 225 a direct replacement for the standard pump, where do you get the additional sleeves from that people are talking about, sorry if this has been covered.

thanks

Chris

All I used the sleeve that came with the pump this is to small but I took the rubber prong seals out the old set up there's 2 and put them over the top of the sleeve works a treat IDE also recommend using the mesh springed filter that comes with the walbro it keeps the pump off the bottom of the swirl pot which makes it a better fit and makes full use of the swirl pot some people think this causes problems with low level not true I've ran mine down to 0 miles no problem at all hope this helps and yes direct replacement

Why u replacing the original ? Is it to cure an ongoing problem?
