How much is it worth...

So house is on the market and dependant on where we end up will determine whether I keep the octy or not.

If we end up where we want to then it can stay and I can continue to enjoy it and continue to tweak :)

2006 MK1 VRS

74k Miles

MOT March 2014

Tax Aug 2014

Rear parking sensors

VRS Mats

In March this year it had a major service and few bits replaced:

Oil, fuel, air & pollen filter

Spark plugs

Oil change

Brake fluid

Antifreeze

Cambelt and water pump changed

Both wishbones replaced completey with all bushes replaced as well

Both track rods and both ends replaced in full

New drop links

New Superpro ARB bushes and new clamps fitted

Replaced headlights and fog lights with Bosch bulbs and silver indicators

Just after this i fitted some Weitec coilovers. I bought them 2nd hand off Luca. Before fitting I replaced the bumpstops with genuine weitec parts and had new top mounts fitted as well.

Wheels are genuine 8 x 18 BBS RS2s from a MK1 TT, freshly refurbed and wrapped in vredestein ultra sessanta 225/40/18s only done 2k miles.

Only other mods are audio, Alpine head unit (basic spec really), alpine type e speakers front and rear and polo aeriel.

The car is in good condition, there are stone chips to the front as to be expected and there are a few light scratches hear and there. The car is used, not abused but it is used and not a show queen.

Probably make more putting back as a stock car and selling parts off tbh...

This really is an excellent example of probably one of the last Mk 1 VRS's available. Well cared for with good service history. I've seen it in the flesh and it's stunning. I would say minimum £3k worth every penny. I would be reluctant to sell at less and would keep if it doesn't make the required price. GLWTS if you choose to do so.

Cheers Pete :) I was thinking that £3k would be the rock bottom considering the cambelt etc.

Like I said it is well looked after mechanically and cleaning wise!

Agree with the returning to standard would probably be best. I have the standard suspension and stereo in the loft. Would just need to get some spiders.

Is it worth more standard or is it just saleability?

I'd say you'd fetch £3,500 for that, but it would require selling to someone who really knows their stuff i.e what they're getting.

I just bought a car in similar condition for a not dissimilar amount, after waiting around on here for almost a year for the right car!

Ill start the bidding, £3 and a bag of Maryland cookies.

That's good to know! I was thinking of advertising for around the £3.5k mark and in all honesty getting £3200ish.

I won't be a hurry to sell if I have to so can hopefully wait for the right buyer.

Go for 3500 bud

U can always ask for offers but offers wont be higher than u ask ;)

I'd have paid £3500 for your car quite happily when I was searching for a vRS if it had have been available then, the fact that the cam belt and water pump being done is worth £300 of the price straight away.  Sensible mods on yours which shouldn't put people off (having experienced the crappy standard stereo the fact that yours has been replaced is definitely a bonus!) and a popular saleable colour too.  Good luck with the sale.

I looked at a 55 plate silver mark 1 that was £3900 with 90k on, it was immaculate but a few hundred quid more than I wanted to spend.  It still sold within a week though.  Good ones will sell for good money to the right buyer.  They're still a fair bit cheaper than an early mark 2 and still seem to be in demand, probably as a good family alternative to a smaller hot hatch.

In the end I got an 04 with 113k but full service history and receipts galore for £2400, knowing I'd have to spend a few quid on it (which I did).  It was the second best I'd seen after the four grand one.  I looked at some right heaps...
