Our Fabia is up at 130k miles now and the catalyst is starting to look a bit ropey and it rattles quite a lot.  MoT coming up in December, so I want to work out what to do before then.  Been quoted silly money for a new cat (more than the car is worth!), and told the aftermarket ones can give emissions problems at MoT time.

 

Any advice if you have overcome this problem at a reasonable cost?

Ecp sell cats for ~80. The rattling might be from a loose heat shield, if it is loose just pull it off.
