Oil catch can

Featured Replies

I thought a oil catch can was suppose to catch oil I just emptied it and it's got water in (condensation)? Took the pipe off and it's gunky there's no water in the oil and the water level has not moved is this just condition ? Or is something else to Blame ?

Its ment to catch water vapour from the breather system, if it has horrid gunky water in it then its working

Ok sweet thanks mate you have a guide for s3 manifold ?

It's the catch can acting as a condenser. Normally the water vapour would not have a chance to condense and instead pass quickly back into the intake and get burnt.

If you're not catching much oil, I'd just remove the can and go back to a standard simple breather system.

Catching no oil just condensation I think IDE rather the water be caught in the can than go to the tip it's doing its job got a bit of gunk in there u no the color of oil and water mixed

Well it seems your catch can is catching stuff

And its not in ur pipes, gotta be a win surely :)

Hello guys, I'm from Czech republic, so please sorry for my english.

I have an OCT, not Saikou but I think it doesn't matter. After 3 weeks and 300-450 miles I have found in the OCT this liquid. It's a small jar of 200g yoghurt. I think in the OCT is too much of "something"(water and oil?). What do you think?

Thank you

Lada

Thank you for the link. So I guess it's normal. But today I have found another problem. It disappeared too much oil after installation of the OCT. My components are 20mm hose, 19mm joiner and 19mm T-joiner, so it's same as other(also my installation procedure).
