I have just found a complete suspension kit for a audi s3 will it fit on my octy? Also will it sit lower? As this is what I am looking for? Thanks

Bump

Both cars have very different weights, the Octavia is much heavier at the back so the springs will be all wrong.

I have actually heard the s3 is heavier? MAybe I heard wrong??

S3 is quattro 4wd so there may not be much difference curb weight wise.

S3: 1420Kg  (1980Kg gross)

Octavia 1U 4x4: 1375Kg  (1930kg gross)

This may be the case, but the weight distribution is all wrong. The octy has far more overhanging from behind the rear axle. This will load up the rear more, and the front less. It's a gamble. It will sit lower at the back, but the springs will behave badly. Not recommended.

KW seem to think the axle weights are close enough to sell the same v3 kit for both cars, with a front axle weight of 1040Kg and rear of 1050Kg

V3 35280031 for S3, & Octy 4x4

To the best of my knowledge, no one has actually tried the S3 setup on an Octy 4x4 - or maybe not lived to writing it up on a forum

Well that's just crazy. Unloaded that could possibly be the case, but loaded it could not.

Thanks for all the replies, I think I might go another route to lower now which is coilover's what's the best budget coilover's would you recommend?

I bought GAZ GHA's for a 4 motion Golf, GAZ ask what you will be using the car for and supply springs and dampers to suit. They are nearly £600 but give a very good ride for normal day to day use, if the need arises you can adjust the damping to almost rock hard too.

I got mine from Larkspeed and they took nearly 6 weeks to arrive as they are made to order.

Personally I would look at V6 TT, R32 or S3 springs as you mention above, all will work well and if you have access to ETKA might even have the same part numbers  :wonder:

That's coilovers though, in general coilovers arent changed depending on weight for any car, springs are though so you'd need to check if their spring kit is different or not.

The GAZ are what I'd be thinking about

From what I've read of them, and from experiencing KW v2 vs v3, I'd choose them over KW v2 too

v3 are cracking, but not budget

spax rsx here (octy 4x4 fitment) and I love them

What's the comfort like with these?

A lot better than I thought it would be, I havn't gone too low and i'm just above mid way on the damping adjustment.
