Thanks, good news

I think all new cars with remote, have two remote fobs and a "Valet" key, that will open the doors but not start the car.

Has anyone that bought a Skoda recently received 2 key fobs and a 'Valet key'?

New Yeti, Elegance Plus spec, two fobs, no 'valet' key.

All recent new Skoda's I've had have come with two remote keys. Not sure on the Fabia but the Yeti fitted with maxidot you can personalise settings to each key.

Note: Fabia S/1 trim is key central locking not remote, which is what my lad has. Bizarrely his previous Fabia I Classic (6 years older) did have remote locking, albeit one remote key and the other not.

If purchased new, I would ask your dealer! Mine is a 59 plater, two fobs and "Valet" which gets you in but no immobiliser chip to start car. It's just an old style key!

Two remote fobs, no Valet key, that's on a new Monte Tech back in June 2013.

No valet key here either...

Not all new skodas do, I believe all but the Citigo come with two remote keys. My brand new Citigo sport only came with one remote key and one normal key! I was a Little surprised tbh!

Yes, I was too :(

Just the two...

Last time I saw a 'Valet' key was on my Honda Accord about 15 years ago!!

2 remote fobs for me too on both the mkII Octys I've bought. SWMBO Seat only had 1 remote plus a standard key with the imoboliser chip in it. Spanish cheapskates!

I know when we bought the Ibiza, it was a special edition, and a big fuss was made about it coming with 2 remote keys. That's why I asked.

I'll expect two then.

:)

New citigo (62 plate) 1 x remote key & 1 x normal with chip.

New Octy vRS (12 plate) 2 x remote keys.

Sure the valet key is not just a spare someone had cut.

If its anything like my Passat, which had one, it was no good because if you manually unlocked the door with it you had to get a key in the ignition with a chip to switch off the alarm that was about to go off.

mrgf, as defenderben says, it'll be a normal key someone has had cut for your car, probably hoping it would work in some way. Since the intro of all this electronic stuff, valet keys can't be used.

Octy 3 came with two remote fobs. No valet key

Just picked up a new Fabia Monte Carlo Tech Estate yesterday.........two remote fob keys. All good! Lovely car too........incredible value!

Never seen a valet key for Skoda in 15 years of prepping new ones.

Audi used to give you a little plastic one that would open the door but not the boot or glovebox.

Brand new Fabia Monte Carlo Tech - Two remote keys and flowers for the missus!

Picked up my new Monte Carlo Tech tonight, again same as most above, received two remote keys
