Fabia Elegance hatch problems

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm new here and I have a couple of problems with the hatch on my W reg Fabia.

I've done a search, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Firstly the hatch on my Fabia doesn't close properly every time. I believe it

is due to the badly fitting plastic trim inside the hatch. Has anybody else had

the same problem and is there anything I can do about it?

My second problem is that the washer on the hatch doesn't work, I believe this may be

down to a tube coming disconected somewhere.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Don't know about the shutting bit but the tube for the washer was common on our last fabia.Used to come off all the time. The point it came off was actually under the bonnet. If you have a bit of a hunt you should spot it

Thanks mate, I'll have a look in a bit and let you know

My X reg Fabia comfort has the same hatch problem as well. I am currently experiencing what sort of speed/force/special-method is most likely to shut the hatch properly.

I get that hatch closing thing on my 51 reg too. No idea why it doesn't close.

If you can't see the pipe, grab a volunteer to squirt the water while you have a torch under the bonnet maybe?

just slam it shut!!!...i got teh same problem with the washer jet thing but i pushed mine thru the wall where it was and now i cant get it out:(

Oh the joys of a warranty!!!

I thought the washer hose also came off at the back of the roof, leading to headlining stains etc... Just a thought.

On the brightside - on a 4 year old car the only problems are 2 very minor, easily fixable ones! Can't be bad.

i thought w reg would b 5 years old now?

Thanks for the great response!

Your right L-Y-K it is 5 years old now. BTW slamming it doesn't make a blind bit of difference.

there seems to be a technique in not doing it too hard or too soft :orb_rolli

I'll post a picture of the interior trim in a moment. I'm sure thats the cause of it as it looks wrong

Well I just closed it first time, this time I hardly pushed it at all kinda let its own weight

and inertia do the work.

Yeah, same here, some time it work this way. I remember one day when I was in tesco car park, I tried to close the hatch like more than 20 times, my girl friend started to feel embrass as I attracted few peoples watching. Then she pashed me away, and closed the hatch like you memtioned effortlessly.

One way I am trying is while left hand keep pressing the remove button, right hand pash the hatch to close. I think the position where I put my right hand on is important, but I have yet to find the ideal position.

Exactly the same problem here mate. I'd like to get it sorted as sometimes its just ridiculous!

Anybody out there know how to resolve this issue?

Is it down to the plastic trim not fitting flush?

Louis is your trim inside the same as mine?

Paul

yep i have the same prob with the hatch.found best way/ only way to shut it is to push it hard in one movement all the way till it stops.mines been back to dealer twice but they cant fix it.they tried telling me its because the car doesnt have breath holes like the older version and theyve had same prob on oct aswell.duno if taht true tho.
