Hi all I have a ticking noise that started just today (not injectors as this is a separate noise) it sounds like it's coming from behind the steering wheel when inside the car but upon opening the bonnet it sounds like it's coming from the cambelt!! It goes when you push the loud pedal...any ides? Am hoping it's not belt or tensioner related but fear the worst

It could be the carbon cannister purge valve solenoid ticking, if your car is a petrol.

It is a petrol.... Is that an issue or just an annoyance? The purge solenoid thing

I had that, a fuel line had broken out of its holder next to the master cylinder, sounded like an old school fuel pump!

I would have thought its the ACF valve as FF says,

 

Pretty normal although they do have a history of creating faults.

it does sound like something vibrating or knocking in the dash/drivers side area.....I will get it checked out
