rear speakers, stealth shelf

hi folks, has anybody ever attempted to build an mdf parcel shelf for a felicia hatch for a pair of speakers? i've had a look at it and it's a little bit of an awkward shape with the curved bit near the back, i'm struggling to piece together the logic in my mind of how to tackle it, i want to try and make it look as original as possible..

i know the purists out there will whine about how having rear speakers ruins the stereo field etc but i want to have a go at it anyway

just a thought, Tom, but what about fibre glass/GRP. Get an old shelf, cover in cling film and use it as a mould? Can still be covered in some decent felt or similar.

yes i could make a fibreglass one fairly easily, but it's too lively, mdf is the way forward for speaker enclosures

ahh OK, fair enough :)

Like this? :D

I should imagine it is a case of building the shelf in a basic shape, following the contours of the original one and then building up the cover to hide it.

just put cloth over the whole shelf and wrap it losing the speakers in the indents, I did this with a pair of 10" mids in my felicia
