Hi my name is Shane, I have just bought a mk1 octavia vrs on a 52 plate with full service history. I went to look at the car on my own after work all seemed well the car was clean and tidy no rust everything tight full service history recent mot 5 months tax the last service was 500 miles ago time wise 8 weeks ago.

I left my van about 30 miles away from home and took a mate in the car with me to go pick the van up my mate isn't insured to drive the van but can drive other cars on his policy so he followed me home I know for a fact he never drove it hard as he was behind me the whole way when we got back the engine light was on and it wasn't boosting as hard as it had been earlier that day. On the service sheet it mentioned the light had been on so I called the guy I got it off to ask what it was he claimed it had been mapped and the engine light came on but he just reset it as there was no faults recorded.

I'm thinking the story is ****** tbh about the remap causing the light to come on. I'm still happy with the car and am going to get it checked and get my mate to sort it he also maps cars but is away for a week. Has anyone any ideas what could be causing it to loose boost not a total loss but a noticeable amount?
