Strange damage to rear bumper

Featured Replies

Washing the Monte this morning and disappointingly I found some damage to the rear bumper. No idea how it happened but the impression left would suggest the culprit was some form of screw and oddly it looks like it was fired at the bumper head first  :wonder:

No damage to the defuser just below, which you would expect to get hit first if something had reversed into it :wonder:

All very odd and a shame; thought about a smart repair but probably not really worth the bother for that.

Someone nudged it that had a number plate that is fixed by a surface screw ?

No help with anything else, but I think the screw was probably a Posidrive type.

Looks like a round head Philips screw - Good job it did not hit the windscreen

I tend to agree with this. A screw thrown up by a tyre would not produce such a 'uniform' and even indentation.

Yeah, phillips headed screw looks to be the culprit!

This could be a case for Mulder and Scully.
