Symptoms are

Headlight switch outer ring not backlit

LED downlighters not working

Switches in centre console not backlit (ESP, Stop/Start, Mode)

Wiper/Washer stalks not backlit

 

Does this point to a faulty headlight switch?

That or a cable fault.

Yep - dealer is now ordering a headlight switch but doesn't seem to keen on me pinching one off of their demonstrator for 5 minutes to check they have diagnosed the fault correctly (seeing as they missed this fault code entirely when servicing the car!)

Yep, wiring fault. Part of the loom behind the dash was pinched by the metal frame for the dash and had shorted this out.

Not good, how the hell this made out of the factory like this, wasn't picked up at PDI or service is beyond me.

Time to speak to SUK methinks.
