Alarm keeps sounding! Skoda Fabia Mk1

Featured Replies

Need help!

My alarm has started playing up tonight, At first i didn't think anything of it but it has gone off three times now annoying the neighbours!

My mate had the same problem in a Polo so I asked him what he did and at the minute I am having to open the passengers door, lock the door from the inside then shut the passengers door...

Any suggestions what maybe the issue?

I have a feeling it maybe the alarm horn which he says on the polo were located under a wheel arch which gets wet and causes the issue meaning I will need to replace it however I would like an opinion from the experts.

Make sure your bonnet is properly closed mate. Its got a senor in the catch which can play up at times if not fully closed ;)

As above, most likely your bonnet switch. Could well be just a dry connection so give the switch a spray with WD40 aswell.

Had the same problem with mine a few months back, but the WD40 seemed to do the trick *touchwood* :)

Weird... Locked it today and it isnt doing it...

I think I will still do the inside car lock trick tonight just incase... don't fancy annoying the neighbours!

Easy way to test if it's the bonnet switch. When it's playing up again, disconnect the switch on the bonnet latch.

It's wired up that it thinks the bonnet is closed when the connection is broken. so whipping the lead off fixes it immediately if it IS the problem.

Skoda don't sell the switch on it's own.. you need a whole latch I'm afraid.

How do you take that bonnet micro switch apart? I can't see where it joins? My 07 vrs has developed the no flash fault
