Monte 1.6 tdi differences between 75BHP model and 105BHP

Featured Replies

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone can tell me the differences between the 75bhp model and the 105bhp?

Basically i'm wondering if its just the ECU map which alters it increase the power from 75 to 105, or whether they have different turbos etc?

Thanks :-)

Very good question!!

I'd imagine it would be mapping, could be wrong!

I'm interested to find out as I have a 75HP one ! and if its the case of a map i wouldn't be as scared to go from 75 to 130!!

I  remember a previous discussion about this. I remember someone said the oil cooler is smaller on the 75bhp cr tdi. Please feel free to correct me if I`m wrong.

Its about 30bhp if my math is right.

I took mine to revo to get remapped and they said its just a map.

So basically if you have the 75bhp one your nearly doubling your power ! :)

Thanks guys :-) Will look more into it then!

Ad lav - your mathS is right.

Your math is in the colonies dear boy...

No idea as to the physical differences, but previous posts have stated that getting a CR remapped makes no odds where you start - 75 or 105.  They both go to 130.

And your insurance company will love you, or maybe won't insure you due to the massive percentage increase

(I'm assuming people do still declare remaps)

Last time I had a relapse I was in hospital :giggle:

I not only declared my remaps but I actually insured ahead so that I can have up to 25% increase in power, should I fancy a Stage II remap.

Edited: on account of autocorrect and potential Brimma rage

Can you people not read :(

I can now, but I'm in devils mood today, sorry Brimma, it infuriates me as much as i assume it does you?

It's more than just the software that is different. There are mechanical differences re the induction side.

Go on..........

As an owner of both 75 and 105, both diesels, I can say for sure that the 105 is better on fuel, at least 5mpg :-)

Funnily Skoda show both the 75 ps & 105 ps as having the exact same MPG and co2 g/km

the 105ps unladen weight as 15kg heavier than the 75ps.  with the Hatch & with the Estate.

(maybe correct-ish if there is a different oil cooler and induction)

They show the Estate as being 20kg unladen heavier than the hatch with the same engine

and exactly the same MPG & Emission figures.

That is just Skoda and their imaginary Economy  & emission figures.

Even though my Fuelly stats don't show it, the 75 had fill ups between 280 and 330 miles each time, the 105 get filled anywhere from 350 to 420 miles so there's a definite difference in my usage, not too bad seeing as it's an instruction vehicle only.
