How to remove Plastic seat trim

Featured Replies

Hi again,

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove (temporarily) the plastic trim at the base of the

front seats of a Fabia Elegance?

The reason I want to remove them is so I can fit some seat covers. I've got kids

and I want to protect the seats.

Thanks again for any help.

Yes it's possible; you'll need an M10 12-point wrench to remove the seat runners to gain access to the underside of the seats, and a T25 Torx screwdriver to remove the fixing screws.

But if all you want to do is anchor the bottom edge of seat covers, why not use self-adhesive Velcro on the plastic and stitch the other half inside the cover?

Thanks,

I hadn't thought of anything so straight forward. You've given me food for thought

cheers

In an Elegance you have also got side airbags, and must not fit seat covers.

Though I have heard that you can get seat covers for seats with side airbags.

Side airbags are optional across the new Fabia range so you would have had to be specified when ordering the car...... :D

My Elegance hasn't got side airbags. At any rate the covers I got from Halfrauds

are compatible
