Rang SUK...

Akhm you mean every 10-12 years right? Like me :hi:

You lose too much money buying a new one every three to four years IMHO.

I agree. :)

Maybe up in Cotswold country you do but down here it's twelve months max.

I dunno, maybe the dealers sell the balance of the warranty back to the manufacturer?

I remember a mate who traded in a car that had 9 months tax left on it to a dealer and walked past the showroom a week later to find the tax disc had been replaced and now only had 6 months on it!

I thought Penzance and the Cotswolds were both in the UK, so I don't understand why a car sold in Cornwall would attract less warranty than one sold in the Cotswolds.....?  Very strange, as far as I am concerned, all Skodas come with a 3 year new car warranty, irrespective of the amount of owners, that warranty is fully transferable, same with all other manufacturers.... didn't realise that in Cornwall different rules applied??  Maybe they have put up passport control and border police on the Tamar Bridge recently so different rules apply down there...?

Each manufacturer probably has different small print about warranty and transferring over to next owners.

Vauxhall 'lifetime' 100k miles warranty only applies to the first owner.

I have a mixed experience with SUK, but on the whole they have been very good and one reason why I bought the Octavia when I said no more Skodas.

I have now dealt with two different dealers and both have taken the order and that's it no info.  I must say I always start of by saying I am getting no info from the dealer, the last call they asked for the dealers name and I gave it to them.

If A car bought in Europe comes with a 3 year warranty, and Is sold to a second owner. The rest of the warranty is valid to the second owner as long as the service schedule is up kept. There is a Loophole if a car is registered as a hire car or a taxi.

I was on the phone to them today and before i even got the question out of my mouth, i was told the lead time on a vRS is now 16 weeks, great i said but that's not why I'm calling you, to which he seemed relieved.

Well I live in Cornwall and I've never come across this lol!

Every used car I bought down here has always come with the full balance of manufacturer warranty.

The only occasion you are given 12months is if the car is an approved used model which is already outside its original 3yr warranty I imagine.
