mytyres.co.uk - Steel Wheels

Featured Replies

Mytyres steels have done two winters on mine with no sign of rust as yet. Also fitted Caddy caps with no issues, snug fit & not needed anything else to keep them in place. Still on summer rubber at the moment as temps in double figures here in the south.

Same for me. No rust at all and the caddy caps are totally secure.

Silver,i know what you mean about feeling vain,i fitted my winter wheels & tyres today, audi 16" alloys with winter tyres & i hate how my car looks with them on  :(  roll on spring when i can fit the 18"s back on!

I bought genuine Skoda 16 inch wheels for my Scout from new and at the time were about £200.  So they've done 3 Winters and are now quite rusty.  Even after the first Winter this was noticable.  I've got off what I can and overpainted a couple of times but they still don't look nice.  I use covers anyway so it doesn't matter what they look like to me, but suffice it to say that being a genuine part doesn't protect them from the deterioration you would expect.  However, they are not that much more expensive.  I've just bought another one to use as a spare and it was £67 inc. VAT so they have gone up a bit in 3 years like everything else.
