What Engine?

Featured Replies

Just on the verge of ordering a new 1.2 TSI 86. I seem to recall that the TSI engine was being updated somewhat, and wonder if the latest Fabia 11 now has the EA211 unit as standard, OR, is it yet to come?

Perhaps my memory has let me down, but would be pleased if someone would like to comment.

Many thanks

Colin

Colin, there is a new version in the new golf/Octavia. It is mounted the other way and has the cooled exhaust manifold of the new EA211 engines and a 16v head with belt cam. I don't think they will change the engine in the Fabia until a new generation arrives in 18 months time. The Fabia engine was updated and a 'fix' for the chain cam problem added so this engine needs no new cam belts and is also fitted in the Rapid. It's a great engine and the Fabia is great but get a discount as it only has a year to go and you might want the extra 5 year warranty. Andy
