Climate Retrofit

Featured Replies

Can climate control be retrofitted ? Already have A/C so is it a simple panel swap and recode ?

Like anything its not impossible but you'd be looking at alot of time and money to do it. The 2 zone system differs alot to the standard climatic system, lots more sensors/motors etc.

It can be done, done it myself last year over two days, and it didn't cost £4,000+.

If you want help with it I have photos of mine,PM me and will send some over.

Yes you have to remove dash board and most of the struts behind the dash area, when I got mine I made sure I had the sunlight sensor too (easily forgot),the hardest part is getting the "new" blower unit in place can be a bit of a bugger it was on mine.there is a difference in the electrical connections between the two systems,I had to put in an extra wire (which you wont have in you got single zone),but that aint a problem.

If I can help in any way get in touch

Cheers

It is possible, but only worth doing it if you meet the requirement below

If you have a donor vehicle for parts

You have a workshop or somewhere where you can keep your car

have another car to use while yours is in bits

and be good with wiring

The guy who wired my xenon lights did a retrofit to his golf 5.

If can be done he will do.

Even park assist he will do.

Few weeks ago did a Acc retrofit from a golf 7 onto a golf 6.
