Is this model only available as a 1.2 TSI ?.

 

Can you get it in 1.6 TDI ?.

 

Anyone got this exact model and what is the difference between the BE and the standard Tech Monte ?.

If you want a Tech Black Edition as a 1.2 TSI you'll have to settle for the Hatch only.

You can get the 1.6 TDI in the Tech BE but only as an Estate.

There's no difference in the spec between the red, white or black Techs, all come with Amundsen Sat Nav and Bluetooth.

Hopefully collecting our Tech Black Edition (1.2) next weekend.

They are available in the diesel estate, but a couple of dealers I spoke to suggested they were getting harder to get hold of. How true that is, I don't know, but we wanted the 1.2 anyway.

As far as I know, the Techs are the same spec as the standard Monte Carlo, but you get the Bluetooth, Amundsen Sat Nav (plus Maxidot) and obviously the metallic paint.

Looking at the skoda website fabia mc tech black hatch 1.2TSI only. And 1.6 tdi comes in the estate version. BE is only the colour everything else the same as standard

Also....ignore the dealers if they say they can't discount the Tech. That's rubbish, you can still get a very good discount on these

May get about £500 off and ask for free mats and full tank fuel free gap ins paint protection 5 years extended warranty

I thought it must be some additional spec.  I can't understand why they would call it a BE otherwise ???.  So it's just a black MC Tech ?.

So for 'Black Edition' read 'the Fabia Monte Carlo Tech is now available in Black Magic metallic in 1.2 TSi hatch and 1.6 CR TDi estate'

Must admit I like the white / black contrast on the Candy White too.

As far as I know, but might be wrong as you don't know when the dealers and Skoda Uk are spinning you a line....

When the techs were released/announced in the spring, they were limited and only in white or red. Then, they later released the black version, calling it the Black Edition. I think all the Black Edition are built to model year 2014 spec, whereas the red and whites were model year 2013. Again, might be wrong. I understand there are some red and whites still available to buy, but not in great numbers.

We ordered ours just before week 43 and it was built week 43 and, like I say, hopefully will be with us next weekend.

You can get quite a bit more off the RRP than that, and not one that's been sat in a showroom or compound. 

Another query folks, do you get privacy glass as standard ?

Sunset glass Skoda call it.

Rear doors and hatch window only, standard tinted glass on the rest.

Spot on once again.  Ta !. 

Worth noting as well, in case you missed it. You can't add any factory fit options on the Tech.

Monte tech BE is dearer because of the paint £475 for black magic. But you get it for the same price as white/red Tech
