Guys,

 

I'm thinking of trading in my mk1 vrs for a mk2 1.6tdi.

 

I have a few questions..

 

1. I believe the monte carlo is a little sportier (looks wise)?. I'm after the sportier looking model out of the 1.6TDI range, which would that be and what are the differences?

 

2. I believe both the 75BHP and 105BHP both remap to 130-140BHP?

 

3. Regarding a DPF removal has anyone actually noticed a power increase with a remap and DPF removal? - figures?

1 - Monte Carlo is the 'sporty' one, with sports seats, arch trims, slightly lowered suspension, 17" wheels and some small Monte Carlo badges on the wings.

2 - yes

3 - not sure, but it won't pass an mot as far as I know?

The 1.6 CR engine will not remap to 140 BHP only the 1.9 tdi 105 engine.

 

The 1.9 tdi does not have a DPF.

 

The 1.6 CR engine may remap to 130 but I doubt the claims. It definitely wont feel like the 1.9 tdi remapped.

 

The 1.9 tdi is the version you want to get the best bang for buck.... I have one remapped.

O addition... You cant get a 1.9 tdi Monte Carlo.... but you can make a 1.9 tdi very tidy. The PD 1.9 tdi remapped has real grunt
