Just about to sign for an 05 Fabia VRS but before I do would just like to say hi and ask a couple of questions.

It comes with a multi CD changer does anyone know if the face comes of for security, not in the best of areas and dont want to give any reason for a second glance.

Also those seats, have 2 kids very scared of what they would look like in 6 months time, I have read a few posts on this but did anyone find any standard looking ones from halfords that would fit?

Never owned a non petrol car before how often should I check the oil.

The car is 2 months old (black) traded in my T-Reg focus and got the remaining to pay to 9k that good or bad not signed yet

Thanks for any help and if you have any other tips it would be apreciated.

1. Nope, but it is a unique fit, so unless anyone else wants a Fabia radion there is no need to worry (you have an alarm as well)

2. Dirty. they are a pain to keep clean. Not sure about seat covers though.

3. same as you would in a petrol, but I'd keep an eye for the first few thousand miles as the PD engines are known to drink a bit of oil before the first service.

The stereo is a non standard size and is therefore not really much good except to other Fabia owners

You can either scotchguard your seats or, if your kids get really dirty we have sorted specially fitted seat covers from Hatchbag

Check your oil weekly until the car's done 2-3000 miles

As for the deal, as long as you are happy, that's all that really matters.

You should enjoy it. The straight line performance will be really quick after the Focus, but the Focus has a great chassis and will give the Fabia something to worry about in the really twisty bits.

As an overall package the Fabia takes some beating. I've loved every one of the 15k I've done in mine.

Thankyou very much for the reply's im sure im going to use the forums often, just one other question if you would.

The cd player does anyone know if it plays cdr and cdrw?

Thanks again

Certainly plays CDR's, never tried it with CRRW's tho!

I've had a Focus pool car for a while and whilst I'm sure the ST and RS out-handle the vRS, the standard ones definetly do not!

Stepping from a 1.8TDCi (100bhp) to the Fabia is like being released!! It does absolutely everything better - you'll absolutely love it, especially coming from a petrol :)
