Aurora Drl (daytime Running Lights) Skoda Octavia 2

Featured Replies

My DRL project, just thought it might help some others.  I researched the many different aftermarket DRLs, and finally decided to go with the Ring Aurora Drls.

Reason for this was the fact that many of the other DRls , although cheaper, were not up to the job, or of good quality and some were not fully approved (E Marked) and therefore perhaps have issues during MOT.

The Ring Aurora seem to be the best ones out there at the moment , My research was simply based on reviews viewing  some of the products in stores.  The Aurora have consistently 5 star reviews on Amazon, so I thought it best to go with these.

I have now fitted them and I am very happy with the quality , style and performance  of the product. They come on when the car is started up, and go off when I turn the side lights on.  I was worried that they might stay on when I turn the ignition lights on to run my aftermarket stereo, but I can confirm they don't , they come on for a few seconds and go off if the car is not started.  The smart relay does the job well.

The biggest job is cutting the plastic trim to fit, but after that the wiring is straight forward , 3 wires positive , negative, and 1 wire to go to the side lights , which is either pin, 10 or 2 depending on the side. There is a thread on here somewhere about this.
