Got pulled by the police again this morning at about 10.15am on my way to the bank. I pulled onto the main road, road was dead and only him going the other direction, he glared right at me, swung his bmw round like he was the stig and blasted after me, followed me for about a mile and then flashed me :|

Difference between this officer was he was actually traffic, not a beat bobby so to speak like the last two absolute helmets that have pulled me over. He checked my details and then revealed that my car has a marker on it, fudge stains! At some point someone drove it while disqualified, i dont know in's and outs but it was a scottish police force who placed the marker on it, which is where the car spent its life before me.

He also commented that my car was very clean and shiny and let me on my way

Can you not get the marker removed ?

One of my old cars (a Golf) had a marker on it because the registration had been cloned - I was only ever stopped once in 4 years.

 

Would a visit and polite chat at the local station help? Depends whether you providing all necessary documents and proving the car is legal may mean they can remove the marker??? Don't know.

Yep, speak to your local station and ask about getting it removed. Take all your documents including proof of when you bought it and you should be fine.

Proof that technology is only as good as the person feeding the information in! I'm sure a visit to your local station should get that sorted out

Sounds like he was okay about it and just acting on the marker. Least he told you about that. Hopefully sorted and no more unjustified stops.
